Human Resources provides for a central personnel system for the City of Blytheville. The office works closely with all City departments to recruit and select qualified, capable employees and administer employee benefits. The goal of this office is to provide excellent service to all employees.

The City of Blytheville is in search of a Code Enforcement Officer for our Blytheville's Quality of Life Unit-Code Enforcement Department. This is a full-time position primarily to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building codes, zoning laws, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Protect the public welfare by monitoring and enforcing a variety of applicable ordinances and codes, to determine the presence of health hazards, nuisance violations, sites that may be a harbinger for vermin, unsafe building conditions, and violations of any health, building, or land use regulation, statute, or ordinance.
Education and Certification:
A high school diploma is required; a degree in a related field is preferred.
Certification in code enforcement or related areas can enhance job prospects.

This role is crucial for maintaining safety and quality standards in properties, thereby contributing to the community's well-being and development. Additional training will be required and provided upon hire.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Must possess the ability to accept responsibility, work independently, and communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

• Must be able to acquire asbestos certification through ADEQ in a timely manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Title: Code Enforcement Abatement Technician – (Seasonal)

Position Summary:
The Code Enforcement Field Technician helps to keep our community safe, clean, and compliant. This isn’t just a mowing job—you are the "boots on the ground" team responsible for resolving property violations. From maintaining neglected lots to securing abandoned structures, your work directly improves the quality of life in our neighborhoods.________________________________________
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Property Maintenance: Operate mowers, weed eaters, and blowers to bring non-compliant properties back to city standards.
• Securing Structures: Board up broken windows/doors and secure vacant or hazardous properties to prevent unauthorized entry.
• General Abatement: Remove debris, trash, and illegal signage as directed by departmental work orders.
• Field Support: Assist Code Enforcement Officers with various tasks to resolve health and safety hazards.
• Equipment Care: Perform basic daily maintenance on gear to ensure the crew stays operational.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Code Enforcement.

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
